You can never have enough hair for Poser or DazStudio. Fortunately for those of us on a tight budget there is a lot of really high quality hair out there for the various figures. The following is a quick rundown of some of what is available.

Kozaburo

Kozaburo has a good selection of very high quality hair available in the downloads section of his site Digital Babes. the following is a sample of what is available:

 

 

Adorana

Adorana has a good selection of dynamic hair and skull caps for V3 and M3 available on their site.

 

Ladyfyre Graphics

Ladyfyre Graphics has some free hair available. Two of these items were previously on sale at Renderosity but are now available free.

Evelinne is a female toon figure with an oversized head created by EvilInnocence who also provides a lot of support for her.

EvilInnocence

EvilInnocence has a dedicated section in their ‘free stuff’ area that contains not only the base figure but a good selection of clothes.

PoserClub

PoserClub is a japanese site that has a large choice of items available for Kururu. Unfortunately there is no easy way to link to them and you just have to browse through the downloads directory. Although it is all in Japanese there are english words within the description text that relate to the model that the item is for so it is easy enough to spot what is for Kururu.

You need to sign up for this site and there is a good rundown of how to do it here.

Chickentopia is a concept I came up with way back in 2007. I was playing Rolemaster, a Role Playing Game, being run my a fellow gamer called Nige. We had to investigate why all the chickens from the farms in a local village had gone missing. My character, after some cogitation decided that they had all run off to a cave after having been turned into undead zombie chickens to live in an undead chicken utopia – Chickentopia!

So, put simply, Chickentopia is the place where the undead chickens go to live in perfect peace and harmony.

For a time my gaming blog, which you might still find at Ravings of a Mad Gamer, was the only result returned by Google when searching for Chickentopia. Since then the amount of references has increased and now seems to have become a more widespread term. I would like to think it was a term that I coined but I don’t think I am that lucky. I am reasonably certain that I was one of the first, in not the first, to get it into Google.

Just remember – Chickentopia exists!

There are a lot of freebies for Poser out there – some are good, some are bad, and some are fantastic. You can usually rely on the high quality of freebies from vendors. Some freebies are available near permanently from vendor sites and others are available for a short period either directly from website or via weekly emails. The following information is correct at the time of writing but as usual this may change.

Weekly/Short-Term Freebies

• Daz3d provides at least one freebie every week which are found easily by keeping an eye on their freebie page.
• Content Paradise give a free item at least every Sunday here. You need to filter the results by ‘free items expiring in 30 days or less’.
• Renderosity give a freebie every month in their weekly newsletter. You can sign-up for the newsletter by registering with the site here.
• RuntimeDNA give a ’super secret newsletter freebie’ (SSNF) every week which is displayed prominently at the bottom of the ‘RDNA Chronicle’. You can sign-up for the newsletter by registering with the site here.

Long-Term Freebies

• Daz3d has a number of freebies available on their freebie page. They also have an archive of their original freebie program offerings which are found here.
• RuntimeDNA give some previously for sale items here.
• Pretty3D has a number of freebies available here.
